Phoenix Air Unmanned Completes 13,000 miles of BVLOS Utility Inspections
Aug. 30, 2022 - The drone inspection flights capture high-resolution imagery of the transmission line infrastructure. The mileage total is another milestone for a program designed to build upon traditional inspection methods in the utility industry and advance beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations in the National Airspace System.
Phoenix Air Unmanned' s First Flights with SwissDrones
Sept. 20, 2022 - Phoenix Air Unmanned completed our first flights with the SwissDrones SDO50 V2 in the United States! The 192-pound aircraft is operated under FAR Part 91 and is capable of extended range UAS BVLOS utility drone inspections. 13,000 drone inspection miles later – and two years after our initial 44807 petition for exemption - we’re moving forward with multi-sensor capabilities and increased endurance!
IBAC Announces First of its Kind Registered Operator

Utility Inspections at Scale
Jan. 2, 2023 - Phoenix Air Unmanned hopes to expand its business with larger drones that fly more like helicopters. The company is seeking approval from the FAA to use SwissDrones SDO50 V2. It is a more complex aircraft that allows to fly farther and carry additional payloads.
